Professor George Brooke will talk about the Dead Sea Scrolls and Manchester's part in their discovery.
Professor Brooke joined the University of Manchester in 1984 and has been Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegisis since 1997. He has published many works on Biblical studies, but his main interest lies with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which he has studied for more than twenty years. Professor Brooke has been a member of the international team editing the Dead Sea Scrolls under the auspices of the Israel Antiquities Authority since 1992.
