10.30am at the entrance to the John Rylands Library Deansgate - Note 16th May is the correct date.
Kate Dibble is a Blue Badge Tourist Guide of Manchester and the North West. She leads a variety of tours and has a particular interest in the authoress Elizabeth Gaskell.
For centuries famous authors, writers, poets, editors and playwrights have had links with our city. During this tour we look at places connected with 'the Written Word', and hear about the lives and works of those who were either born in, visited or have had succinct words to describe the city over the years. As 2010 is the bicentenary of Elizabeth Gaskell's birth we will devote a little special attention to her life in our city.
(Please note that the printed events card wrongly states 15th May for this event!).
